A site engineer plans, designs and constructs civil engineering projects such as buildings, roads, bridges and dams. Their responsibilities include monitoring construction progress, adherence to safety regulations and managing the project within budget and time constraints.
Job Responsibilities
They meticulously inspect the construction site to oversee the implementation of engineering and design specifications. As they handle construction project management, site engineers also prioritise using high-quality materials that meet industry standards. They analyse survey reports, maps and other documents to develop comprehensive project plans and accurately calculate material quantities.
The role of the site engineers also includes reviewing construction schedules, monitoring progress, and promptly reporting any delays or issues that may arise. They are integral to the successful realisation of civil engineering projects, ensuring the highest quality, safety and efficiency standards.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing and supervising construction projects.
- Ability to manage multiple construction projects at various stages of their lifecycle.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, GIS, AutoCAD and other software.
- Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and regulations.
- Competent in assessing, interpreting and presenting survey reports and other critical data for stakeholders and shareholders.
